Piyush Mishra
Poet, lyricist, singer, and actor - one of Hindi cinema's most literary voices.
Piyush Mishra is a National School of Drama alumnus whose career has spanned theatre, poetry, acting, and music direction. He is an acclaimed lyricist whose work appears across Anurag Kashyap's filmography - Gulaal, Gangs of Wasseypur - as well as acting turns in the same films and in Rockstar, Tamasha, and others.
His spoken-word readings of Hindi poetry and his original songs circulate widely online, and his live performances combine recitation, anecdote, and political commentary.
On stage, Mishra is a literary and cultural voice - he speaks on Hindi verse, the craft of songwriting for film, and the role of the performing arts in a democratic public sphere.
