Navjot Singh Sidhu is a former Indian Test opener whose international career spanned over a decade in the 1980s and 90s. He scored more than 7,000 international runs across Tests and ODIs and was known as one of the most aggressive sub-continental openers of his era.
After retirement he became a high-profile cricket commentator whose Hindi and English broadcast style - his 'Sidhu-isms' - became a genre of their own. He has hosted television, served as a member of the Rajya Sabha and Punjab Legislative Assembly, and is a Padma Shri recipient.
