Kumar Vishwas

Hindi poet, Ramayana commentator, and one of the country's most-loved performers of the spoken word.

Dr. Kumar Vishwas is a Hindi poet, lecturer, and one of the most popular figures on the Indian kavi sammelan circuit. His 1994 poem Koi Deewana Kehta Hai is widely regarded as a modern classic of the love-poetry form, and is recited from school auditoriums to international festivals.

In recent years his Apne Apne Ram lecture series - a long-form, music-and-storytelling exploration of the Ramayana - has drawn live audiences in the tens of thousands and a digital following many times that. The series threads literary criticism, devotional reflection, and personal commentary into an accessible whole that lands across age groups and faith backgrounds.

Vishwas is the author of multiple poetry collections and a former assistant professor of Hindi literature. On stage he speaks on the relevance of classical Indian texts to contemporary life, the role of poetry in public discourse, and the long tradition of the Hindi spoken-word performer. Equally booked for literary festivals, spiritual gatherings, corporate cultural evenings, and motivational events.
